A man and woman are sitting in front of a table in a room with a glass window, and the man is smiling while looking at the woman. The woman is holding a pen and seems to be writing something on a piece of paper. A mirror, a tablet, and a pen are on the table. Behind them, there are some objects, probably glasses, on the right side, and there is a staircase with a railing on the left side.

Honest Guidance & Reliable Follow-Up From a Team You Know

We take time to explain what’s involved, help determine if you’re a suitable candidate, and make sure your recovery stays on track after the procedure. It’s the same thoughtful, personal care our patients have trusted for years, now extended through your surgical experience.

What Is LASIK & What Are the Alternatives?

LASIK is a well-known laser procedure that reshapes the front of the eye (cornea) to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses. It can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

It’s not the only option. Depending on your eyes and your goals, we may also talk about:

  • PRK – often recommended for thinner corneas

  • SMILE – a small-incision alternative to LASIK

  • Refractive lens exchange or ICLs – common for patients with higher prescriptions or age-related changes

We explain each procedure clearly, go over the pros and cons, and help you decide what fits your needs best.

Co-Managed LASIK Care Offers Comfort & Continuity

When it comes to surgery, having a provider you already know can make the process much smoother. You’ll still have your procedure done by a skilled surgeon, but your eye care before and after the operation stays with us.

At Friedman Optometry, we provide:

  • A complete evaluation to see if you’re a good candidate

  • A clear explanation of your options

  • Referrals to local surgeons we know and work with regularly

  • All follow-up care after surgery, including healing checks and vision updates

  • Bilingual support (Se Habla Español), so everything is understood clearly in English or Spanish

You stay with a team that knows your history and can answer questions without the pressure of a surgical office.

What to Expect From LASIK Before & After Your Procedure

Before Surgery: We’ll check your prescription, eye health, and corneal thickness. If everything looks stable, we’ll talk you through your options and refer you for the procedure.

After Surgery: You’ll come back to Friedman Optometry for follow-up care. We’ll monitor healing, check your vision, and make sure everything is progressing as expected. We’re available if anything comes up — and you won’t have to re-explain your history to someone new.
